The Laughlin Family Foundation is honored to announce that we are teaming up with The Maryland Black Bears Tier II Junior A hockey team, members of the North American Hockey League, to host “Roar Against Rare Cancers” charity night on Saturday January 6th, 2024 at 7:30pm at Piney Orchard Ice Arena ((8781 Piney Orchard Pkwy, Odenton, MD 21113) to raise awareness for rare cancers.

Craig Laughlin will be available for a meet & greet with fans before the game with photo opportunities, and will participate in the ceremonial puck drop at 7:30pm, ahead of the Maryland Black Bears vs. Maine Nordiques game, which is a re-match of the 2023 NAHL East Division Finals.

Autographed Washington Capitals and other sports memorabilia will be available for silent auction during the game, with 100% of proceeds benefitting our foundation. A portion of the proceeds from tickets purchased online with a special code “ROARVRARE” will also benefit the foundation. Tickets are now available for purchase here and use promo code “ROARVRARE”

“We are excited to partner with The Maryland Black Bears and be a part of the local hockey community,” said Laughlin. We are looking forward to a great night to help raise awareness for rare cancers, and I am personally looking forward to dropping the puck and hanging out with Black Bears fans. I know it’s going to be an awesome night of hockey, and we can’t wait for January 6th!”

“The Maryland Black Bears are proud to partner with local hockey luminary Craig Laughlin and the Laughlin Family Foundation,” said Chris Rogers, Black Bears president.  “This effort gives our fans the chance to both connect with a great guy and support a cause that helps spread awareness, education and research for underfunded and rare cancers.  We couldn’t be more excited to pack Piney for a great cause.”
