The Laughlin Family Foundation Raises Over $40,000 at Bottle Up Cancer Party Featuring Craig Laughlin and Joe Beninati’s New Wine, Broadcast Blanc

The Laughlin Family Foundation held their Bottle Up Cancer Party, the first fundraising event of 2023, on Friday May 19th at Blackwall Barn and Lodge and raised over $40,000 to help support rare endometrial cancer research, education, and awareness initiatives.

Featured at the event was Locker and Joe B’s new white, Broadcast Blanc, a collaboration with 3 Steves Winery. The wine was personally blended by the broadcasting duo along with help from 3 Steves winemakers Steve Ziganti and Alex Wolfe during a Capitals road trip to California in March 2023, and represents Chardonnay grapes from 3 vineyards in the Livermore Valley aged in both French and American oak barrels for 7 months.

Guests in attendance had a chance to enjoy the new wine and mingle with several sports celebrities including Peter Bondra, Alan May, Alexa Landestoy, Scott Allen, John Walton, Ken Sabourin, and Harvey Grant. Special guest appearances were also made by current Washington Capitals Tom Wilson and TJ Oshie. During the live auction, Oshie did his iconic jersey chug, which you can read more about here.

If you missed the event, you can still support the cause. Limited edition bottles of Broadcast Blanc and last year’s wine release, Broadcast Blend, are still available for purchase directly through 3 Steves Winery. You can place your wine order here.

A special thank you to all partners, sponsors, and donors who helped make the event possible including: Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Metin Omer, Steve Ziganti of 3 Steves Winery, and James King of Blackwall Barn and Lodge.
